On tap this week is a husband and wife team, and members of the band Frank Muffin, the wonderful Brittany and Hans Rees, who are also part of the staff at Rec Room Recording. Joining us is Tiffany Palacio, Director of Family Promise of Greater Lafayette.
Frank Muffin is presenting its annual tribute show on November 4th and 5th, a cover-to-cover performance, this time celebrating Electric Light Orchestra’s Out of the Blue double album. Each year’s tribute show is dedicated to local charities and this year the show will benefit Family Promise of Greater Lafayette.
Tiffany, who, as it turns out, is also a performer (vocalist), relates the story of Family Promise, an organization dedicated to keeping families together through the challenges of homelessness in Tippecanoe County and the surrounding region. She encourages your donations and your time to visit and volunteer with families being served.
To share ELO’s Out of the Blue album – which featured such hits as Turn to Stone and Mr. Blue Sky – the Muffin Band will be joined by over a dozen additional musicians “to cover the fascinating synth, strings, and guitar riffs that made Electric Light Orchestra one-of-a-kind.”
