ART TAP episode 008

Episode 008 features an interview with Eric Van Cleave, Executive Director of the Long Center for the Performing Arts in Lafayette, Indiana.  In addition to managing the Long Center, Eric is a musical arranger/orchestrator, producer, director, and educational clinician. He has worked with many of the nation’s finest high school and college music programs as well as Cedar Fair Amusement Parks, Show Choir Camps of America and the Indiana All Star Show Choir.
You can find the Long Center Facebook page here:
https://www.facebook.com/TheLongCenter/
Long Center for the Performing Arts website can be found here:

And you can search Hal Leonard Publishing for Eric Van Cleave.

I found a volume of great relevance to Eric’s work, titled Sweat, Tears, and Jazz Hands: The Official History of Show Choir from Vaudeville to Glee by Mike Weaver and Colleen Hart.  He assures us he’s included in it and points out that Mike Weaver is a graduate of local McCutcheon High School.  You can find the story here.

This week's "Look Ups":
Eric spoke about his love for short films and recommends https://www.shortoftheweek.com.  He also tells a funny story about the way his house appeared on Google Earth at https://www.google.com/earth/, where you can go anywhere on Earth (but unfortunately can no longer see the effects of his story apparently).
